Remarksi was walking south on broadway in manhattan so i did not see the whole trajectory; it emerged from behind a building and then disappeared behind buildings on the other side of the street. it was an intensely bright line traveling very fast with small sparks coming off of it as it traveled. i heard no sound and saw no particular flashes or explosions, just a continuous bright stream for around 2 seconds.
