Remarks | Visible line remained in sky after fireball was gone, long enough for me to run in and grab binoculars to see what it was: straight line of smoke visible in pre-dawn light. 10 minutes later, smoke still lingered in the air but was dispersing. |

Remarks | My first initial thought was that a helicopter with a bright spotlight was flying straight towards me. Then the bright light seemed to explode and burst outwards before fading as the fireball fell and went dim. |
