RemarksBest meteor I have every seen. I was facing north and I saw it brighten. At first I thought it was a satellite, but as its speed and brightness increased I exclaimed "wow, look there" to my friend who was facing south. He was able to turn around, see it and then we both watched as it passed almost directly overhead, where a small piece fragmented off, and watch as it passed almost all the way to the southern horizon, dimming before it disappeared below the horizon. We were in a small valley so our horizon was higher than usual.
