Remarks | I was sitting on the step looking north and a brightness above me caught my attention. Not fast moving, but the trail appeared to be about 1/2" wide and quite long from where I was. It was so close I could clearly see what looked like white flames trailing from the main source and sparks following the flame. (Like you would see if you stirred a campfire, also white) It seemed to get real bright and more of the sparks and then it was gone. Almost 2 min later there was a boom. There was light cloud cover, but this seemed to be below the clouds. I had to look almost directly straight up. I'm not sure if it was a fireball or very low meteor. We live in a very rural area so we see meteors all the time when the skies are clear. This was very unusual; not the normal meteor we usually see. |
