I was driving so I don't know about the sound. I have never seen such a bright meteor and it caught the attention of both of us in the car, while we was chatting.

Remarks
It was like a meteor, but it was much brighter and much bigger. The trace on the sky was longer and wider then for a regular meteor like the Perseides. it last longer than a usual meteor.
