Observer
NameGarrett H
Experience Level1/5
RemarksWe were driving along interstate 40 in Nashville near dusk. If someone else had not been in the car with me I would have thought my eyes was playing tricks on me. I don't really have any experience spotting these things, but wanted to know what it was and stumbled upon this site. I figured I'd make a report and see if anyone else saw the thing. It only lasted a few seconds before we lost it behind some trees, so I don't know how long it lasted, but I did get a good long look at the fireball fragments before that happened.

RemarksI saw the fireball while driving with my girlfriend near dusk. It had broken into at least 3 pieces and their trails looked like burning wreckage (I thought maybe I had seen the aftermath of an aviation disaster at first). The trails persisted for the entire length of the sighting (until we drove behind some trees) then were gone.
Terminal flash
ObservationUnknown
Remarks-
Fragmentation
ObservationYes
RemarksI think the flash got my attention, I saw 3-5 fragments each with large white trails.
