RemarksIf we had a dash camera, it would have recorded the whole thing. We were traveling north on I-17 approaching Black Canyon City, and it appeared in the 11 o’clock position of our field of view looking down the highway. It seemed so close and was coming almost straight down. It seemed close enough that we wondered about the town located there, had it hit any structures! We were traveling 80 mph and had a lot of road noise so we did not hear any boom with it. Truly an amazing sight!

RemarksIt came down as a bright streak and at about the middle to 60% into the fall, it did a bigger flare and the line seemed to skip a section before continuing. The bright flare looked like a big fire burst.
Terminal flash
ObservationYes
RemarksLike I described earlier, at about the 60% into the fall, it did an even bigger flare, maybe broke into pieces and continued with a streak behind it. My husband felt he could see dark matter at the front of the streak but I can’t say I did. It came out of nowhere and seemed so close.
Fragmentation
ObservationYes
RemarksPossibly, during the flare, it seemed to skip, by this I mean the line was solid behind it but at the flare point, there was a section of no glare line
