Remarks | This happened so fast, it was shocking. For a moment after I wondered if there was a firework- but it was so unusual, and in the middle of the sky, and I was high on a hill overlooking Ithaca and Cayuga Lake. Eager to hear if others saw it to confirm if it was a fireball. Thanks for collecting this information! |

Terminal flash | |
---|---|
Observation | Yes |
Remarks | There was a bright flash like a round ball that seemed to have sparkles in it, with a thinner trail behind, and all disappeared together. I think. It was so fast. |
Fragmentation | |
---|---|
Observation | Yes |
Remarks | Maybe the “sparkling” was fragmentation? And a tail which disappeared right away with the flash when it went out. Very fast. |
