I had my back slightly turned then noticed the sky lit up very brightly in the corner of my eyes. I turned around and there was this huge meteor coming down. It was so big and bright it lit up the night sky and illuminated the entire ground as if it was day time. The sky illuminated a bright nautical to civil twilight blue color and the area surrounding the meteor was a very bright white color. The ground was illuminated as if someone had lit off a bunch of fireworks or the kind of illumination you would expect from a decent size bon fire. This is the highest stellar magnitude (-17) I have ever given a meteor before. That is how bright this object was compared to previous reports I have submitted where the stellar magnitude was only a -12. I did hear a whoosh sound as it traveled through the atmosphere but did not hear any explosion sounds when it broke apart. From my point of view it looked like it was only 200-300 yards away from me. I wish I had captured it on video, it was such a spectacular sight the likes of which I have never seen before.
