Thin mid-level status cloud layer is making the 18% waxing herself moon look hazy/blurry and dim but I can still see its shape. This object was far brighter than the occluded moon but not much of the sky around it was illuminated. I could still see very clear detail of a bright object breaking into multiple trailing and dimmer pieces.
