Remarks | The fireball disappeared, then the sky flashed, suddenly it looked smoky (or cloudy/foggy). I didn't smell smoke, but I was in a car with windows up. Must note that I was near an airport, and after the flash, a low flying airplane came from the east and flew towards the airport, over my car as I was traveling on I-40 towards Wilmington, NC. It did not seem like the flash came from the plane or airport because it lit the whole sky. The sky and air had been clear up until the fireball disappeared. A few minutes after the sighting, I noticed the sky was clear again. |
