RemarksI was sitting next to a backyard fire pit and first saw the object between the needles of a low tree, therefore I can't give you wholly accurate brightness an duration. I would describe the look of the object as similar to one 'star' of a large firework, except the angle was to shallow and there was no audible report on a quiet night. I would be interested to know if my sighting has helped with tracking anything.
