RemarksI was very surprised to see this! I was out for a walk and was looking out over the estuary towards Avonmouth, an industrial area. It is heavily lit so you can barely see stars. The object streaked down got brighter and flashed, and split into fragments. I am very interested in the night sky, regularly go satellite spotting and ISS spotting, and have seen many meteors. However this is first I have ever seen that has flashed and splintered, and had a light green hue to it. I didn’t know if that was due to the light pollution making it looks an odd colour? It was low in the sky and larger than I’ve seen before too. Very exciting!
