RemarksHaving some nautical experience and general knowledge of navigational lighting, I thought it odd that the "white light" was not going away from me as it should be in a dark situation; it was going from left to right and was a large white ball that just faded. I also thought it odd as there were no clouds that I could see, maybe on the horizon but since the light was going left to right it had to be a fireball. Also, please note that this was in the direction of Midway Airport and would of occurred directly overhead, but was not an airplane as I did not see a green navigational light indicating left to right movement. There were still plenty of stars in the sky and airplane activity occurring at the time.
