Remarks | I let the dogs out just prior to the event. It was very dark and I was at the door window looking south when the yard lit up for about 2-3 seconds in bright green. Moments after, I heard a boom that sounded like thunder in a completely clear sky. Folks 12 miles to my west (Estes Park, CO) are also reporting it- feeling their homes shake and hearing an explosion. I did not see it directly, but my perception was an east to west trajectory. I live at the bottom of a steep canyon, Big Thompson Canyon on Hwy 34. It had to be directly overhead to light things up like it did, no long shadows. |
