Occurred during the fireworks display at Disneyland, but I knew it was too far away from Disneyland to be a stray firework. This resulted in me being unable to hear if there was any noise associated with the fireball.

I couldn't tell if it was glowing or smoke. But it tapered back and disappeared as the fireball moved, and went out all together when the fireball disappeared.
