RemarksThis is the 2nd "fireball" I have witnessed since 2010. The first one was was very large and was documented by the University of Wisconsin, I believe the meteorite was actually found as well near Mineral Point, Wi. Today's observation was made on a crisp, clear, very early morning while stopped, on my snowmobile, about to cross Hwy 14 just outside of Black Earth, Wi. We were facing very near north when it first came into view on my right. The trajectory angle was very steep, which was the most notable detail. The blue to light blue color of the meteor filled the sky with light and the tail was orange to orange/red. It was bright all the way down as it fell out of vision above the horizon behind a hill. I remember, for a split second, thinking and waiting for an explosion as if it were a missle. Again, I've never witnessed a metor or "shooting star" enter at this steep of an angle. Based on this, if there is a surviving meteorite, I wouldn't doubt it would be very close to where it was viewed. My wife was with me and witnessed this as well as the first one in 2010 near Ridgeway, Wi. I did a search as soon as we arrived home and came to this site. Although I'm a novice with limited knowledge on this subject, I felt compelled to share my experience and hope to learn more...
