Remarks | This appeared HUGE. I've witnessed meteor showers many times before. But those only made tiny pin pricks of light. In constrast, this meteor appeared HUGE. From my vantage point, it was almost as large in the sky as the full moon, and was significantly brighter than the moon would have been had it been out. It appeared plummeting straight downward, to the south/southwest of my apt, out over the Pacific Ocean. It moved SO fast. Bright, pure white most of the time, then slightly yellow as it approahed the horizon. It was so large that I braced myself for an impact wave. But no explosion, no sound. Maybe it's out beyond orbit. |
