RemarksI was driving and caught view of the object directly to my left for a brief moment. It was so bright, it seemed to be on fire. It's hard to tell how big it seemed, because it appeared to just be engulfed in bright orange fire, (and a tail of light green fire) so the shape/size wasn't immediately recognizable. But it seemed very large. I would say it was about the size of a thumbnail if you held your arm out all the way. It did not appear to look like a star or anything in the distance that you know to be very far away and looks like a dot in the sky; it almost felt like it was only 1000 feet away. It was traveling straight downward (not in an arch) and I only saw it for 1-2 seconds before it became blocked by the dense trees on the other side of the road from me. Based on the distance above the horizon and the speed it was traveling, I could imagine it making impact about 3-5 seconds later and was listening for a sound. Although I know that it's much more likely that it was way beyond the horizon and nowhere near me. But that is the impression it made based on size, speed, and distance above the horizon.
