RemarksSaw this while flying into State College. Pretty cloudy in valleys, but van driver noticed it on way into airport. Stayed fairly consistent with brightness except for initial bright flash. I saw it for only a couple of seconds and it seemed whole with orange-red sparks trailing behind. Appeared to be a fairly vertical strike into atmosphere.
