RemarksWhile flying an Airbus 321 as the captain of AAL2290 (MIA-ATL) we were descending through 9100’ on the JJEDI 3 at waypoint JJEDI.. when the entire flight deck lit up BRIGHT BLUE/GREEN like we were being spotlighted. We snapped our attention to the object heading straight down from the sky (off our left wing) thru our altitude then explode into orange fragments beneath us and disappear.
Fragmentation
ObservationYes
RemarksThe object was descending so fast that it was fragmenting all the way down. At the bottom of its trajectory it fragmented into about 10 pieces and vanished.
