i've seen shooting stars that I thought were close in the last 50 years. This one is the closest I've ever seen. I was driving and it startled me as it passed over the cars in front from left to right toward the horizon and behind the trees.

It was a long orange train that stayed with the fireball until it was out of sight on the horizon. The train stayed consistent as the fireball traveled from east to west.
