This report has been linked to the following event: Event 10463-2022
Observer
NamePeter D
Experience Level3/5
RemarksThe objects in the sky looked just like the picture in the book "Meteorites", The story of our solar system, Second Edition, Caroline Smith, Sara Russell & Natasha Almeida, Firefly Books Ltd. 2019. The objects looked like the picture on page 8 of a Peekskill meteorite. The date is approximate since I do not remember the exact date. It did happen in the early fall timeframe. There were 5 or 6 lights in the string of lights and lasted 2 to 3 seconds as they passed almost directly overhead of my position. It surprised me when the lights appeared to the west, streaked across the sky overhead and disappeared to the east.I am re-reading the Meteorites book again and remembered that incident so I thought you might want to check-out that sighting. If I don't hear anything from you, I will not bother you again. Respectfully,Peter DisterlicLt.Col, Retired
