Remarks | Maybe there is a small meteorite on the ground somewhere near there! Could be interesting to maybe try and look at footage from stores’ cameras facing that direction. Please note I had to approximate the time. It was definitely after 9:00pm and before 9:18pm (ET) And 9:08 is my best guess. This has been fun. Thanks! I was very interested to see that so many people reported something at that time!!! |

Remarks | The fireball started less bright and at the end of the short duration it became much brighter and appeared larger. At first it was maybe the brightness of venus, and at the end of the 1-2 seconds, it appeared as large as maybe 1/4 of the moon and was about as bright as 1-4 of the moon, from my perspective. It actually appeared that it was a small meteorite landing in the area—near or behind the home depot there. I actually went and looked but didn’t see anything. I am not sure how accurate my depth perception was, but it seemed to be very very close to that building. |
