RemarksI used to be very big into astronomy when I was 10 - 14, which was 24 years ago (school told me girls couldn't do such things for a career, I wanted to be an astronaut). I now live in a rural area and only smoke outside so am a regular observer each night, though no longer have any equipment.

RemarksIt looked like an explosion, like when a rocket fails in a film, it was to the left of the moon and when it exploded was red and about an 8th the size of the moon in appearance when it exploded. the colour expanded out in all directions but predominantly to the front and a wide but short tail at the back. I waited 10 minutes to see any fragmentation but there was none
